I should have posted this graffiti on March 1st (belated theme day)
This is not a political post but it is surely highly politically incorrect. The caricature represents our present president as a little boy. President Sarkozy got married for the third time last month. I don't know who his first wife was. We all know who his new wife is, of course, as she was already very famous before marrying him.
The second wife, Cecilia, had been Jacques Martin's wife before becoming Sarko's wife. Jacques Martin was a famous TV host who died last year. It is said that Sarko fell in love with Cecilia the very day he married her to Martin (he was mayor of Neuilly).
For years or even decades Martin hosted a program called "L'école des fans" (the fans' school) during which children were sort of interviewed and sang (or tried to sing) a song by their favorite singer. The ritual question was: What do you want to do when you grow up? (thank you very much, Expat).
In the caricature, little Sarko answers: "to steal your wife from you" (which is what he finally did).
Pour mes potes français, c'est une caricature que j'ai photographiée sur les berges du Lez. Vous savez tous que Sarko a épousé en deuxièmes noces l'ex-épouse de Jacques Martin, donc je pense qu'il est inutile que je traduise tout mon post. En revanche, si "Stu" passe sur mon blog, qu'il n'hésite pas à modifier l'anglais s'il est "faulty".
