Tique Salon

Tique is a hairdressing salon located in my area in Berkeley. I thought the name was funny, as "tique" means tick in French.

J'ai trouvé rigolo le nom de ce salon de coiffure dont j'ai photographié la façade hier soir.

ABC Wednesday..... P is for Pompignane

The neighborhood where I live in Montpellier is called "La Pompignane."

At "La Pompignane," we have a piscine (swimming pool), une poste (post office), a parc (park) with a special place for people who play pétanque, and also a few problèmes (problems). :-)

Therefore this ABC Wednesday was an easy one for me!

If the problems could be solved, "La Pompignane" would be the best neighborhood in Montpellier, on the way to the sea.

Please visit Mrs Nesbitt's place and the blogs participating in the ABC Wednesday.

UFO ?

No, this is not a UFO. It is the public swimming pool of my neighborhood, la Pompignane. It is a "sunflower swimming-pool."

Non, ce n'est pas un OVNI. C'est la piscine publique de mon quartier, la Pompignane. C'est une piscine tournesol.

Rose

Just a little pink rose today. An antique rose found in a beautiful garden in Les Aubes, the neighborhood next to mine.

And a little personal secret. My ex-husband now spends his summers in Minneapolis with his new wife. I am sure he does not care at all about my being concerned by the accident that occurred yesterday, but that does not prevent me from hoping they were not caught on the bridge that has collapsed.

Aubesessions

I live in a neighborhood named "La Pompignane." It comprises a few nice houses but the neighborhood next to it, "Les Aubes," is older and its houses are generally enclosed within high walls and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Once a year the residents of Les Aubes open their doors to artists, and to the public. They call this cultural event "Aubesessions," which is a play on words on the name of the neighborhood and the word "obsession." In a few years, I have discovered real wonders there (compared to my government-owned residence!).

Aubesessions 2007 took place last May. I thought that the Indian dancer in the photos was in perfect harmony with the garden where she performed.
