Keep off the grass

French people don't like other people to tell them what they should do. They won't keep off the grass and why would they when it is so hot and so windy that they can't stay on the beach, in Palavas les Flots.

The church in Palavas

My (big) computer is dumb (I have left my headset in Westport) and a bit blind as I cannot access my recent photos (on my still broken laptop). I took these two photos of the church in Palavas les Flots in last September. There is a big window in the choir, behind the altar. You can see flowers moving in the wind while attending the service.

Mediterranean Sea in the winter

This is my friend Sheelah from Louisville on the beach of Palavas-les-Flots, one of the seaside resorts where "Montpelliérains" rush as soon as the sun shines enough for them to get their suntan back asap!

When I took this photo, during the winter, Sheelah had just recovered from a very serious illness. She is fine now. This is one of my favorite photos.

Bike Ride

This afternoon my friends Denise and Roberto and I took a wonderful bike ride between "les Etangs" (the ponds) close to the sea . The weather was very nice but it became cold around 5 PM. We went to Palavas les Flots. Palavas derives its name from "pue la vase" (stinks of silt). Of course, it does not stink any longer!

If you come to Montpellier, I will take you to les étangs. If you can't ride a bike, Denise will lend you hers...... :-))
