Salle Rabelais

This is the façade of a former movie theater, which is now called salle Rabelais. The main part of the building, which was built in 1908, is an amphitheater in which film festivals (such as the Festival du Film Méditerranéen and the Festival du Film Chrétien) are held every year. One can attend all kinds of lectures in the salle Rabelais, all year round (by writers, philosophers, filmmakers, politicians, etc.).

The rooster on the façade has been sculpted by a sculptor from Sète, François Acher.

Aubesessions

I live in a neighborhood named "La Pompignane." It comprises a few nice houses but the neighborhood next to it, "Les Aubes," is older and its houses are generally enclosed within high walls and surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Once a year the residents of Les Aubes open their doors to artists, and to the public. They call this cultural event "Aubesessions," which is a play on words on the name of the neighborhood and the word "obsession." In a few years, I have discovered real wonders there (compared to my government-owned residence!).

Aubesessions 2007 took place last May. I thought that the Indian dancer in the photos was in perfect harmony with the garden where she performed.
