Weegee

The Pavillon Populaire on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle hosted an exhibition of "Weegee"'s photos for all summer. I was lucky enough to visit it before it closed.

I am sorry for not being more present online for the moment. I will go back to Connecticut on October 11th.

Pinholes & Pixels

Pinholes & Pixels is the name of an exhibition that you can see until the end of this month at Pequot Library, in Southport (Connecticut). I attended the opening of the exhibition a few weeks ago. Two photographers are exhibiting their very different art there. Paul Jones's photos are pinhole black and white images. I found them absolutely beautiful. To tell the truth I have been to the exhibition four times now! I am fascinated by pinhole photography. Every time I see these photos I want to learn that technique and I want to buy (or to make) a pinhole camera (that is a camera without a lens). It is really magic to me.

The other photography is lenticular photography by Migg Burroughs. Although they are so different from Paul Jones's photos, I liked them a lot. I found them so imaginative, so funny, so lively. I can't find the right words today.

When I visit an exhibition, I tend not to take photos of the photos. It seems to me that it would be kind of "stealing them." But this time I think I should have taken a few more photos of the images shown at Pequot Library.

You should visit Migg Burroughs's website. Among other things, you will see a "video tour" of another recent exhibit.

You can also see a few photos by Paul Jones by clicking here.

Pinhole means sténopé en French, a word I had never read until an hour ago :-))

On the second photo, you can see Miggs Burroughs and his beautiful wife, and my friend Craig Berger on the right-hand side. Craig is a safari guide. His company is called Oasis Africa.
