Sunday Bridges....... New bridge under construction

Photo taken from the terrace of the new city hall, Montpellier, on July 31st, 2013.

Skywatch Friday .... Yellow and Blue

Blue sky which gives the new city hall its "official" color.

Setting sun which turns the concrete buildings next to the Hôtel de Région into huge gold bars.

View from the 8th floor ...

Avenue des Etats du Languedoc, photographed from the 8th floor of the "Bureaux du Polygone," last Tuesday. The dark cube in the distance is the new city hall. The high-rises are part of the "Nouveau-Monde" residence and the round fountain close to the traffic circle is one of the places where Isis liked playing when we lived in Antigone.

Sky Watch Friday.... Montpellier seen from my balcony

The sky has been blue for months now on Languedoc. I took these photos from my balcony yesterday. The top photo shows the Massif de la Gardiole (along the sea, near Sète) in the background, three buildings of the Nouveau Monde (a private residence) with the "old" city hall that looks tiny in front of the Nouveau Monde. The building on the right-hand side is a part of Le Polygone. What surprised me most were the cell phone relay antennas (station?) placed just above an apartment in a building, in my neighborhood. Nobody seems to worry about that.

The building with the flags on its roof is the Hôtel de Région. On the left-hand side, the square black building is the new city hall. Before it, one can see the library of the School of Economics and on the right, a little bit of the Mediterranean Sea.

The view I have without zooming.
