Z stands for Pierrot le Zygo on my blog today. Pierrot le Zygo is a blogger from Lodève, an old city about 30 minutes from Montpellier. In addition to being a very funny man, Pierrot is very imaginative. He has broken lots of quite "unexpected" records (you will find his name several times in the Guinness World Records).
A few years ago, the check he sent to the taxpayer was a big wooden cow he had made (he is a cabinet maker). The check was more than 3 meters long (http://pierrot-le-zygo.midiblogs.com/album/vachement_bon/). In France when people think they pay too much tax, they say that the state considers they are "des vaches à lait" (milk cows).
Pierrot ran for mayor of Lodève last year. On this occasion, he made a robot he called "la machine à serrer les mains" (a robot that shook hands with his voters). You can see it on his blogs.
He has appeared in many TV programs. Above are two photos excerpted from a famous TV program entitled "Vie privée, vie publique," in which he participated last year.
I wanted to pay this little tribute to Pierrot because he has a big heart and he is a faithful friend.

RépondreSupprimerPas trop dur de se retrouver loin de NYC ? j'ai eut un petit coup de blues pendant une semaine, mais je prépare mon prochain voyage (que j'espère être en Octobre)
Thanks for bringing Zygo to our attention.

Those who are new to Pierrot le Zygo should perhaps be warned that his blogs are often risqué, sometimes even scatological.
RépondreSupprimerI know, Expat, and I don't understand why he posts such weird photos. I know him personally. He is not at all like that in real life. He is a great person, really. He would give his shirt to anybody as we say in French! His beloved brother died a few years ago and he takes much care of his parents..... They are very good people.
RépondreSupprimerHe sounds a most interesting man - and one with a quirky sense of humour! Love the cheque on the cow!
RépondreSupprimerThat hand shaking robot is much needed in Portugal this year ... we are having three elections :)
RépondreSupprimerVery good... Pierrot izz ze best one!
RépondreSupprimerVery interesting, Marie! I enjoyed reading this.
