Pigeons

Pigeons on the plaza of Le Plan Cabane, which was the first neighborhood that became entirely Arabic in Montpellier.

I chose to post this photo today after hearing that a 74-old French woman called Françoise (which means Française) was going to be expelled from her government-subsidized apartment because her neighbors complained that she fed pigeons.

  1. That's so sad about Francoise (sp?)...but I like this photo very much. I like the dimension of space and the pigeons within that space. Nicely done!

  2. That's TERRIBLE! How sad. Her neighbors should be shot. Or something. (I wouldn't really SHOOT them!)

I have just written a poem in which pigeons play an important role.

    The photo is wonderful.

  3. We have many pigeons in our neighborhood. My little friend Elizabeth (92) feeds them every day!

Quelle honte !

  6. It's going to be hard for Francoise to find a new place where she will be able to feed pigeons.
I have a lovely couple above my garage... babies twice a year but what a mess!
THat's why we always have to read the thousands little lines of regulations... but I am sure there is more behind this explusion which people fear to speak about.

  7. That is so sad. Many older ladies feed the pigeons here along the harbour and no one minds. I knew this area had a stong Arabic influnece when we visited,it was lively too.
