The Dominican Church is located on rue Fabre, not far from the Comédie. I have just read that
the most famous and very politically incorrect Dominican in Montpellier, le père Cardonnel, died in last July.
He was quite a character,

Pretty though. Clean. Nice stained glass. Very basic.
I visited it several times and I visited the monastery. Great places in Montpellier, Jacob.
RépondreSupprimerI like the church and prefer the simple ones to those more decorated and gaudy. But I think some of this also depends on the age of the structure and if they are trying to keep it the way it was when first completed. The stained glass windows do look modern and not what one would expect to see in ancient churches.

The church is old, Abraham, but it has been renovated. The stainglass windows are relatively new.

RépondreSupprimerLes vitraux modernes trouvent leur place dans les vieilles églises. J'avais bien aimé les vitraux de Chagall dans la cathédrale de Reims.
I visited there and never knew you could take photos. The light is quite beautiful.
