It probably means it isn't really dangerous but just in case you go in and get injured you can't sue us because we have erected an official warning notice. In other words they are covering their backs as we say.

RépondreSupprimerYou wouldn't want to go swimming where you might get spiked by a fish-hook, caught in a net, or pummeled by a propellor. Also, if that's Sete -- as it seems to be -- I would add DANGER - BAD SMELLS HERE.
By the way, Mandy is being a bit too polite with her "covering their backs". The real expression is "covering their asses".

I have never seen the gypsy ceremony either. It is very difficult to go to les Saintes-Maries at that time of the year (many many tourists and pilgrims and not enough parking spaces).
I have visited the fortified church several times, and the tiny museum.
