Within "the most exciting city....."

This post is for the blogger friends who are allergic to rugby :-))

Two days ago I strolled around in the Ecusson (the oldest part of the city) with my friend Maggie. The weather was very nice.

The narrow street in the photos is one of the cutiest streets in the Ecusson. There is an English café/bookshop that I like in that street whose name I have forgotten.

On the website of a newspaper addressed to British expats in the area, Blablablah, I have read that Montpellier has been dubbed "the most exciting city." I am not sure Montpellier deserves that nickname, especially as the article relates its exciting aspect to money (the money spent to make it look exciting).

  1. That's the rue du Bras de Fer, Marie, and the bookshop is Book in Bar, which just swallowed the other English bookshop over on rue de l'Université.

Nice place, from what I can tell.

  2. Next time I come to France (i am trying all the time as it is my most favourite country in the world) i will be visiting Montpellier just to see how exciting it is. But at my age I really don't care about excitement . i want exactly what i see in this post - narrow cobblestone streets, great food, great shopping and interesting history - i think you have all of that.

Call into rabaul today and see the volcano when the Queen visited!!!!

  3. Everything is exciting everywhere I suppose. I am like you, though, I could have problems finding anything around here that is exciting. LOL

Nice shot of the narrow street and the small table. I just can't imagine streets so narrow.

  6. What a goof idea Marie, to build this blog for Montpellier. The city where my father studied in 1930 (about)...
