Blog Action Day

On Blog Action Day:

"On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future."

I have found the information about Blog Action Day on Mary Stebbins Taitt's Detroit Daily Photo Blog. The photos I have posted have been taken in my neighborhood.

  2. Hello Marie, It is hard to understand why people allow trash in their yards, in their houses, on the street. Sometimes I pick up trash that has blown on the streets and carry it to a trash bin, hoping to set a good example for anyone who might see me doing so.

  5. Thank you for speaking out about the environment. If I had known about the special day, I would have participated myself.

About being tagged, I didn't get to work on it yesterday like I planned--Mama and I rode around the area, taking photos.

As for jay-walking, it means crossing the street in the middle of the block instead of at the intersection.

I also like the way Volvo looks from this direction. It's neat to be able to see completely through the sign, much like when you're looking through a glass door that has words painted on it.

  7. They will be doing Blog Action day again on October 15 of 2008.

It is so sad that people allow garbage to accumulate.

When I was teaching, I would take the students out to clean up around their school and neighborhood, hoping to teach them the value of a tidy neighborhood and a healthy environment. We took before and after pictures and pictures of the happy children with their full trash bags and posted them for everyone to see.
