Trees and sun

I didn't take these photos in Montpellier but in Villeneuvette, one of the jewels of Languedoc. Villeneuvette dates to Louis 14th. There was a "manufacture royale" there.

I like the reflections of the sun and the trees on the houses (not in the lens of my camera though). The residents are very "jealous" of their little city.

  2. Hi Marie,

In reponse to your question on public transport fares in The Strange Republic, bus rides start from 0.45 Euros (the shortest) to about 1.25 Euros (the furthest).

It may not seem expensive in the eyes of Europeans but the bus companies in Sillypore are increasing the fares every year...and the service standard remains the same!

Buses take their own sweet time to arrive and they are often crowded.

You'll not see bus drivers smiling at you and even if you do, they are most probably instructed by the company to do so. Very sad situation.

  3. Lovely lovely photos. I like them all but my favorite is the second, the little courtyard area. Very cool and pretty. Nice shadows and sun in all of them.

  4. I can understand why the residents feel that way, I would too. Lovely place! Have a nice weekend. :)

  5. Well, if Villeneuvette was already like this with Louis XIV, it's no wonder the residents are "jealous" (or proud or whatever) of their city...
Ypu play chess? I'll meet you for a game at Montpellier... Meanwhile, I'm still around the Rhine at Blogtrotter. Have a great weekend!

  6. Ha!! I knew right away that was Villeneuvette, it's unique. Artisans still ply their trade there, and there is excellent pottery on sale. There's Villeneuvette pottery in my kitchen, you may be sure.
