The fall in Montpellier

I have just come back from Arles, where I have attended "Les Assises de la Traduction," a multilingual translation workshop.

This photo, which I have just taken, shows the view I have for the moment from the window of my bedroom....

  1. My bedroom overlooks a huge pepper tree that stays green year-round, as do California's famous palm trees. But we do actually have some deciduous trees.... plenty right here in my street, actually.

  2. How beautiful! The combination of the roof tops, the fall foliage and the blue sky is wonderful.

Actually, there's a slight grammatical error in that sentence. Maybe 'redundancy' is more accurate than 'error'. Can you spot it?

  6. I'm not sure, Expat... "where I attended"? I'm very tired tonight :-)

Thank you very much. I wish everybody would help me by spotting my errors.

Olivier, c'était super les Assises. Tous mes auteurs sont morts :-))

    Thank you, Lynette and Crow.

  7. Yes, "...where I have attended..." is not quite right. Either "where I attended" or "where I was attending" would be better. Sorry to bore everyone else -- Marie, being a diligent translator, likes to pay attention to these linguistic niceties.

  8. "où j'avais été présent," ?
Not sure if it's l'Imparfait or l'passé composé.
'Where I had attended', is awkward. I prefer 'where I attended".
It's just wonderful, your view, Marie. Can you see the fleuve from your window also?
