New modern style

This is one of the strangest modern buildings in Montpellier. The exterior walls are made of big pebbles. The wooden "terrasses" (balconies) are separated from the building and stand on poles.

    Bon Weekend

  2. It's sometimes hard to judge whether modern buildings are visually appropriate on not.
This one would be relatively successful if it is harmonious with the neighbouring buildings.
So many buildings try to draw attention to themselves with scant recognition of their surrounding environment. I hope that it's placed in a modern area and not in the older sector.
At least there are well established trees to soften the view of it.

  3. Sorry for having taken so much time to come back here, but I will not tell you about my last weeks… The problem is that the coming ones don’t seem much nicer, at least up to January 14th, 2008…
But let’s forget all that; I wish you a nice holiday and I’ll try to come back here to see some beautiful pictures (these buildings are amazing, as well as snow in Montpelier) and divert from less interesting tasks!

  5. This building is almost "cubist"... and inspite being strange I think it works out well. I liked it.

  7. Perhaps it is a functional building but I don't see much beauty here.

Thank you very much for your comments.

  11. Very interesting terraces. Not sure that I would have designed them that way but they're certainly different.
