I photographed these yellow poppies (the official California flower) on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle in Montpellier, last April.
Le coquelicot jaune est la "fleur officielle" de la Californie mais c'est à Montpellier que j'ai photographié ceux-ci en avril dernier.

While your poppies are pretty the state flower of

the yellow varoty but the wild version and is a beautiful orange color. If you have not seen them in their natural habitat you would be amazed at their
beauty. Wild is much more beautiful.
One can go places in California where you can see
hundreds of acres of the wild poppy in full bloom.
