Mediterranean Sea in the winter
This is my friend Sheelah from Louisville on the beach of Palavas-les-Flots, one of the seaside resorts where "Montpelliérains" rush as soon as the sun shines enough for them to get their suntan back asap!
When I took this photo, during the winter, Sheelah had just recovered from a very serious illness. She is fine now. This is one of my favorite photos.

RépondreSupprimerAlso looks like a beach in Portugal!!!
RépondreSupprimerFabulous sea and obviously a good friend. What more can one ask. Love the photo too. Love the energy in it and that your friend is obviuosly having such a good time hunting (or picking up) whatever on the beach.
RépondreSupprimerYep... we also have waves like that here, sometimes even bigger.
RépondreSupprimerBut always nice to have a walk on the beach.
Glad for your friend.
tu en as de la chance, tu pars quand à NYC ? hotel and co, il faut tout me raconter ;o)) tu pourras rencontrer plein de blogger (et puis tu auras moins de probleme pour parler anglais que moi ;o)) )
RépondreSupprimerOh Marie, it would be a favorite of mine too. Especially when you can have that seascape, and a friend in the picture too. The fence really adds. Great shot!!
RépondreSupprimerHope you are doing OK. Love and Hugs.
There's nothing quite like the beach, is there?
RépondreSupprimerSomething has captured Sheelah's attention. The sea looks fiercesome.
RépondreSupprimerMarie, It's so lovely to be back and find some old friends still around. i have lots to catch up on, in your blog...much good news but also sad news too.And I can't believe you met Roberto Alagna!!!! How wonderful!!!
RépondreSupprimerTant mieux si ton amie va bien maintenant. Je n'ay viendrais pas sur cette oplage en ce moment et pourtant j'aime bien la Méditerranée. Aujourd'hui il fait bon se baigner chez Alice. Tiens ! Vivement l'été !
RépondreSupprimerI'm so happy that she's better now. I don't like to hear about serious illnesses.
RépondreSupprimerI would certainly appreciate your posting a condolence message in my blogs today for the wife of a good blogger friend...

I agree with Bergson. The ocean brings peace and refreshes the soul. I has a wonderful calming effect; even when one wears only one shoe !
RépondreSupprimerThe shells and stones that one gathers become a reminder of our relationship with Nature and possibly He who blessed us all with its beauty.
Je vais décevoir beaucoup de monde, mais que c'est triste la mer en hiver! Quand j'habitais Bormes les Mimosas, j'avais le cafard, et l'été je fuyais tout ce monde!
RépondreSupprimerCharming picture! I was trying to decide if she was beachcombing (ah how fun!) or doing martial arts or exercises. In any case, a lovely shot.
RépondreSupprimerMary, Sheelah was looking for shells and pebbles......
RépondreSupprimerLyliane, moi c'est en hiver que je le préfère la mer.
