Michel Serrault died last night. He was one of the greatest French actors of the past few decades. Many French people are sad today.
As a young man, he wanted to be a priest. He changed his mind when he met a young woman and fell in love with her, but he remained a fervent believer all his life.
He was not from Montpellier but in Montpellier several film festivals take place every year. I love movies.
Several great French actors of the same generation have died this year, Philippe Noiret, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Jean-Claude Brialy.....
Ingmar Bergman also died last night. Bergman inspired many films of Woody Allen, about which I have written several articles.
2007 is not a good year for the cinema.
Marie, Sorry for your loss.
RépondreSupprimerHave you notice that is happening to more and more of the actors we grew up with?

RépondreSupprimerA very nice tribute. Thanks.
RépondreSupprimerI am sorry to hear of these sad deaths--I haven't heard or read the news yet today.
RépondreSupprimerI am sad, too.
RépondreSupprimerTake care of 'numero uno'.
We should all slow down a bit sometimes.
steve - yes it is a scary thought.
RépondreSupprimermarie - how sad. We grow to be so familiar with famous people don't we?
We feel we know them so well and they give us so much pleasure - it is like losing a friend when they die.
