This is the back of Saint-Pierre cathedral in Montpellier. A bit strange, isn't it?
Tomorrow I am going to Villefort, Lozère, where I will present my translation of philosopher Locke's Journal. I will be back on Sunday evening and will visit my friends' blogs then.
Have a nice weekend!
Hi marie - hope you have a successful weekend. See you next week.
RépondreSupprimerI like the church - it looks like it has been recently sand-blasted.
Hi Marie! Had a terrible week, no chance to visit my favourite blogs. Hope you have a great success presenting your translation of John Locke's Journal.
RépondreSupprimerAmazing cathedral, great blue sky!
About the EU: don't know if it was beneficial to France. Just think on the CAP (aka Politique Agricole Commune)...
I don't think it is strange. It just makes me want to see it. Gothic cathedrals have a unique structural ability of transferring horizontal loads to vertical loads. Their flying buttresses and stone ceiling construction are some of the wonders of renaissance architecture. Their intrinsic beauty stems from this structural beauty and simplicity.
RépondreSupprimerYou now must show us another view; after you have enjoyed a sucessful and rewarding weekend.
Merci, marie.
I hope you are driving to Villefort because you may see the amazing Viaduc Millau on the way. I am obsessed with it.
RépondreSupprimerBut the Barrage de Villefort will be providing some relief from the summer heat. You could at least run the toes in the water at the clean and sandy plage.
m.benaut: I did some of the translation work on the Wikipedia page on the Millau viaduct, which was a pleasure as I also admire it. I drove over it for the first time a year ago.
RépondreSupprimerHello-I just found your blog when searching for some things related to Montpellier. My wife and I just returned to the US after spending two months in France. We were able to spend two days in Montpellier, and enjoyed it very much. You and I have some very similar pictures! I enjoyed looking at yours. If you're interested, you can see some of ours at www.flickr.com/photos/nateanderica
RépondreSupprimerI hope all goes well with your presentation. I love the sky color.

RépondreSupprimerHave a safe trip..waiting to hear how your presentation goes...I am sure you will do well.
RépondreSupprimerM. Expat,
RépondreSupprimerEn raison de votre travail diligent, j'ai donc eu beaucoup de plaisir d'étudier ce viaduc merveilleux. J'ai lu chaque mot de lui. Merci beaucoup.
You will always be most welcome in Adelaide, Sir.
Lots of interesting architectural elements there. A professor could fill up a full semester with this one.
