ABC Wednesday... G like Greenaway

The famous British filmmaker Peter Greenaway was in Montpellier a few weeks ago (invited by the librairie Sauramps). He talked about the 100 books he intends to write.

The photos have been taken by Mr. Delhoume, from Clermont l'Hérault. Thank you very much, Mr. Delhoume. I took a few photos of Greenaway as you can see in the second photo (woman in bluejeans) but mine are not as good as Mr. Delhoume's.

The pretty lady in the bottom photo is Greenaway's publisher, Danièle Rivière (Editions Dis Voir)

Please visit Mrs. Nesbitt's blog and the blogs of all the participants in the ABC Wednesday.

  4. Does Greenaway speak good French?

  5. One hundred books! How will he find the time? Even if the books are thin, writing a book is a long process. ;-)

    We sometimes get British films
on Public television or at the
Public Library we might be able
    to get British movies.

  16. Greenaway must have entertained his audience, admirably, Marie.
In your 2nd photo, he has the audience laughing and applauding spontaneously; even though one has her hands full !!

  17. Je suis rappelé par un de ses films les plus merveilleux, Le Cuisinier, le voleur, sa femme et son amant.
Je n'ai pas cru que Greenaway avait réalizé, "La Grande Bouffe". Peut-être je me trompe.

  18. Non, La Grande Bouffe était de Marco Ferreri.

  19. Tu fais que des belles rencontres à Montpellier, dis moi !

  20. :) He must be able to write fast. A 100 books is a lifetime of work, he looks like he's at least in the middle of his life.

  21. You certainly get some fascinating visitors to Montpellier,Marie...I find his movies quite 'Challenging'. I wonder if his talk to the group was equally so.
