Mazet
I liked this old mazet a lot. It was located five minutes from where I live. In the summer I used to eat grapes in the vineyard in which it had been built. Blackberries and figs too. I picked up edible weeds (salades sauvages) that grew between the vines.
Last year they knocked it down to build an ugly concrete building.
A few months ago a friend of mine (coucou Jacqueline) told me I tended to show Montpellier more beautiful that it is in real life. I am going to show a few photos of what I don't like in Montpellier. Be prepared :-))

The fountain on the Place de la Révolution is brand new! Its water seems to be dancing in the air. Please go to Mrs. Nesbitt's place to...
I suppose knocking things down is progress if it is replaced. I am with you and hope the blackberry bushes are still there for you to eat.
RépondreSupprimerMonsieur le Président, vous regardez extrêmement beau, (et belle), aujourd'hui, monsieur !!!
RépondreSupprimerMarie,
It would be just so nice to have kept this wonderful and old building. I can not translate mazet, but I will keep searching.
I am so angry when I see lovely old structures like this falling to the bulldozer.
As for the shots that you promise, I look forward to them and hope we can have a location to help visualize where they are ? SVP
>a few photos of what I don't like in Montpellier.<
RépondreSupprimer...starting with the railway station car park, I presume....
c'est triste de voir disparaitre ces vieilles maisons pour que du béton, du béton ;o((.
RépondreSupprimerI have a fascination for old buildings as well. The way the plants over take them and grow on them is amazing.
RépondreSupprimerI am very interesed in your future posts about the images of Montpellier that are not so pretty.I will be picking blackberries soon from the nature reserve behind my home. At least I live somewhere that has not become a concrete jungle dedicated to ugly building, unlike your wonderful Mazet.
RépondreSupprimerThe Polygon would be my first choice.
Blackberry? Hum, that I like!
RépondreSupprimerAs for things you don´t like, let's have them!
This is lovely. I don't know the word 'mazet.' Can't find it in dictionary.
RépondreSupprimerSo sad it's gone. Like you, I'm inclined to show the best of Menton so, with trepidation, I look forward to what you will now show us!
nothing quite like eating grapes staight off the vine!!! nice photo...I am missing you ! busy busy busy!!!

RépondreSupprimerBien retapée elle aurait été mignonne cette maison. Y en a marre du béton partout !
RépondreSupprimerI agree with M.B Marie. This is a terrible waste of a beautiful building, not to mention the beautiful childhood memories you have.
RépondreSupprimerThank you for showing us the "before" and "after" shots. I just confirms what we all feel - very sad.
Who is living in all these apartments anyway?
