Duck walk
I did not take this photo. It was published in a local newspaper. Last week, it took a duck family about 20 minutes to cross a street downtown Westport. It was reported that car drivers waited patiently.
I find that admirable. In Montpellier, some car drivers would have been too happy to run over the little animals.

The fountain on the Place de la Révolution is brand new! Its water seems to be dancing in the air. Please go to Mrs. Nesbitt's place to...
I don't believe many people would wait for the ducks here either! So glad some folks are kind to animals.
RépondreSupprimerGlad to see and know some drivers still respect nature!
RépondreSupprimerYou say in Montpellier some drivers would glady run over the ducks with their cars?
Well, I'm sorry to tell you that they havbe just lost their title!
It's the same in Portugal!
I'd definitely stop! Nature always has a way of reminding us to slow down. Plus, I wouldn't want duck karma...ahem, whatever that might be [maybe a car and feathering]. ;-)
RépondreSupprimerAhhhh, sweet!
RépondreSupprimerHappy quartorze juillet! (A bit late, I know!) . I’ve made a small tribute today, via an unexpected Australia-France friendship symbol, and a small quiz to help celebrate.

Our part of the world seems to stop for the ducks crossing the road...sometimes it can be very dangerous....for the motorist!
RépondreSupprimertrès amusante cette photo et un beau respect des animaux, maintenant je sais comment se crée les embouteillages ;o))
RépondreSupprimerI think that is great that the drivers were so considerate!!
RépondreSupprimerLooks like there are still some good people around ((smile))
Cool duck and cool drivers !
RépondreSupprimerHope you were able to celebrate the 14th, yesterday, too.
RépondreSupprimerNice photo of the duck. Down here, everybody stops for ducks and there are many sign near rivers signifying duck crossings.
The best sight is to see a mother duck with a string of ducklings behind her.
The young ones however can't read the road signs !!
How cute! Glad that some people still have a heart. They'll have to install a special crossing for them.
RépondreSupprimerHelo marie!
RépondreSupprimerWell, two out of three Greek gods qualify you for a Sydney postcard in my view! Drop me a line at rosedalemiller-02@yahoo.com.au with an address to send it to, to claim your prize!
Best wishes, Sally
Kelly probably wouldn't mind if some of those impatient drivers you mention practiced their impatience on some of these. They are a problem around here, too.
RépondreSupprimerThe ducks, however, are another matter....
I am so glad they did NOT run over the duck, yay! In Syracuse, where I used to live, whole families of ducks and geese would walk across the highway slowly and most people would avoid hitting them.
RépondreSupprimerYou deserve a loving man and a nice place to live.
