Begging
There are many beggars in Montpellier. People from all over the world. They come here because of the climate. Some of them will break your heart but this one did not look unhappy when I took his photo.

Well, he's honest at least! LOL!
RépondreSupprimerI saw one like him in Venice Beach and took a photo. :)
You mentioned that people come to Montpellier to beg because of its warm weather. In the USA, some street people come to Arizona to escape the cold elsewhere. Some Arizona residents suspect that mental health workers in other states give mentally ill people money to take a Greyhound bus to Arizona so they will not need services or money from their own communities. The slang term for this is "Greyhound therapy."
Chutt !
Unfortunately, he's a real jerk. If he's not murdering Bob Marley tunes, he's haranguing passers-by. I walked by him one day, talking English with a friend and he started yelling the most awful stuff at us -- also in English. Great way to get people to give you money: call them names!
RépondreSupprimerI saw him once only, Ed. I think he was drunk and that is why he let me take a photo. I even think he "invited" to take it. He may be a bit agressive but still he is a poor guy.
RépondreSupprimerAnyway the result is funny.
No, he looks rather happy! Or silly!
RépondreSupprimerWe have a lot here in Florida, too, also because of the weather. Many claim to be homeless, and that could very well be the case...but some are "professional" beggars...it's hard to tell the difference.
Love this photo!
Well, he's got a sense of humour! There are many in Menton too and I sometimes photograph their dogs for Riviera Dogs. I find the SDF themselves normally prefer not to have their photograph taken, so you did well. Super shot and happily his dog looks in good condition.
RépondreSupprimerWas he making a joke? The sign said "for alcohol or drugs" - seems like a creep!
RépondreSupprimerWe have a lot of people who sit at the freeway exits... Was that his dog?
RépondreSupprimerhis dog is happy so he is a good papa
