Sunday Bridges..... on the way to Sacramento
I took this photo when we were in the train to Sacramento (from Berkeley).
More Sunday Bridges on Louis la Vache's San Francisco Bay Daily Photo Blog.
En route pour Sacramento, photo prise dans le train. J'ai oublié de quel pont il s'agit. Mais pour être un pont, c'est un vrai pont.

RépondreSupprimerLooks like the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge to me, but it's hard to tell, and I'm not sure where the train runs along that part of the world.

RépondreSupprimerYo Ed, that's the new Benicia bridge running north from Martinez. The Martinez oil refinery is on the left. The view is to the west, toward the Carquinez Strait and the north end of S.F. Bay.
RépondreSupprimerRonks is correct.
RépondreSupprimerThe rail line once stopped in Benicia, where the trains were ferried across the Carquinez Strait to Port Costa where they resumed their westward journey to Point Richmond. At Point Richmond, the trains were ferried across San Francisco Bay to San Francisco. The rail turnabout where the trains were turned around for their eastward journey is along the Embarcadero in San Francisco.
Here is another view of the Benecia bridges.
Marie, «Louis» thanks you for your contribution to Sunday Bridges.
